Q&A Thread
Here is where you can find a list of commonly asked questions and their answers. You may also post in this topic if you have a question that you have not found as being answered anywhere on here already.
Q: Do I have to be a member of a Family or the Police Force?
A: No, not at all. You can be an ordinary citizen if you wish, and there is nothing wrong with it. You can build your character up however you want and create your own story with them.
Q: What do the differences in the color system mean?
A: There are several colors for characters once they’re approved depending on where their character falls in the story. If you are an approved character with no affiliation to a Family or to the Police Force then you will be yellow. Otherwise, you will be colored according to which house you represent or the Police Force respectively: this allows us and everyone else to be able to tell whose who at a glance without constantly having to pull up character applications to check someone’s affiliation.
Q: How much money do I make per post?
A: You make 20 per post, but only in actual role-playing areas. You do not make money for posting elsewhere on the forum.
Q: Is this site based on any anime in particular?
A: No, it stemmed from an idea that popped into one of the owners minds after finding a particular faceclaim they liked, and which was further expanded upon – though there are several anime’s that are similar to the general concept.
Q: Who is the site owner/founder?
A: Dezzy and Mychael are the founder and co-founder of the site.
Q: Will you ever allow for non-human entities?
A: Probably not. The whole point of allowing humans with powers is to allow for the fun of using magic while being able to keep things balanced fairly. Until we can come up with a way to balance non-humans and humans alike without severely limiting or destroying one concept or another only humans will be allowed on this site. (And we don’t intend on working on that anytime soon!)
Q: How many characters can I have?
A: There is no limit currently set. As many characters as you can keep active you are welcome to have. We do ask that if you intend on dropping a character you give anyone that might affect (such as if you’re a high ranking member of a Family or the Police Force) a heads up and offer a way for your character you are dropping to ‘bow out’ properly from the scene. This helps to lessen any awkwardness from a character who played an important role suddenly being gone.
Q: There are certain limitations on things, will they ever change?
A: In short, yes. The whole purpose of having such ‘severe’ limitations right now is to keep a balance of power maintained until the site has become more populated at which point the cap can be raised. This allows people to become ‘powerful’ respectively while at the same time maintaining enough balance so that newer members are not scared off before they really have a chance to build their characters up.
Q: Does being an ordinary civilian, a member of a Family, or a member of the Police Force give me any particular bonuses or boosts?
A: Yes, if you start off as a member of a Family of a member of the Police Force you can start out with one D-rank custom item or one item which is C-rank or lower from the Item Mall. These freebies are regardless of starting rank: you just have to be a member.
Q: Am I allowed to private message (PM) a member of staff if I have an issue?
A: Absolutely. Please do not hesitate to send any member of staff a PM if you have an issue with something, a question, or whatever. Our purpose here is to help you, and to help maintain a site that is enjoyable to role-play on: so PM away whenever you have a question, comment, or concern you’d like addressed.
Q: What is the over-all rating of the site?
A: PG-13 is the over-all rating. In the chatbox we expect PG-13 or lower behavior: and a refrain from cursing when necessary. When it comes to threads, if you wish for your character to be doing anything more hardcore than PG-13 related material you need to tag the post appropriately with a [NSFW] or [Rated-R/MA] and so forth tag so that people know ahead of time they’re clicking on that thread at their own risk.
